Val’s story
Before starting my journey with Alia, I was in a very unhealthy and unhappy state - I was constantly having issues with my weight, relationship with food, and mental health. I did not feel confident in my body at all, always putting myself down with negative thoughts about myself.
I have tried many different diets and different ways to lose weight but I would constantly fail and gain the weight right back, therefore putting myself back into that vicious cycle.
I was so ready to get out of this funk. I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin and make sure that I sustained that feeling for the long run. Then I looked to Alia, someone who I knew I could trust and have known for a few years, even before she became my coach.
Fast forward 7 months later— Though this process has been far from easy, I have been able to see the upside to “losses” and have celebrated so many more wins than I expected with this journey.
Now, I am confident in my own skin - proud of how far I have come in this journey and beyond happy with my progress. I have learned that how you feel in your own skin is way more important than a number on the scale. I have learned there are no bad foods. I have learned that even if you going off track for a few days it will not impede on the progress you have made over the weeks/months of your journey.
My mental health has taken a turn for the better and I have gained great habits to help with that. Going to the gym has become a HUGE part of my daily routine, so much so that when I have a rest day I feel that my day is missing something.
I have fallen in love with challenging myself, pushing myself to be stronger than I ever thought I could be both at the gym and with my relationship.
I have become a lot more aware of what I am feeding my body and appreciated the way that my body is changing.
Now that I know that I am aware of what I can do, I know that I am capable of achieving more challenging goals I have set for myself and I have never been more motivated to do so.
